The Metro Jakarta Police Chief, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri, inspected the Cikunir Security Service Post as part of Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026. The inspection was conducted to ensure the readiness of personnel and service quality for the public at one of the strategic checkpoint along the Lebaran homecoming route.

Police Chief Asep stated that the Cikunir security post is a key strategic point in supporting the smooth flow of homebound travellers during the festive period.

“We hope all personnel on duty can provide a sense of security and best service with a humanitarian approach. This security post must serve as a service point that facilitates smooth travel and provides comfort for the public during their journey home,” Inspector General Asep said on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.

According to him, the high volume of vehicles passing through the Cikunir area necessitates continuous vigilance from personnel. Therefore, officers were instructed to remain alert in anticipating traffic congestion, respond quickly to field situations, and assist the public experiencing difficulties during their journey.

During the inspection, the Police Chief examined the readiness of personnel in the field, the completeness of post facilities, and the traffic management arrangements in the Cikunir area. He also greeted the officers on duty and ensured that public service operations were running optimally.

The Metro Jakarta Police also emphasised that security during the homecoming period focuses not only on vehicle management but also on service provision. Therefore, field officers were urged to prioritise a humanitarian approach so that the public feels safe and comfortable throughout their journey home.

Through this inspection, the Police Chief hopes that security operations at the Cikunir post will run maximally during Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026. With personnel readiness and good service, the homecoming travel is expected to proceed in an orderly, safe, and smooth manner.

The inspection was also attended by the Head of Basarnas, Air Vice Marshal Mohamad Syafii, and his team, who directly reviewed the Cikunir Security Post. On this occasion, the Head of Basarnas emphasised preparedness in addressing potential disaster response situations, particularly amid the extreme weather conditions currently occurring.
