Metro Police Chief: Homecoming Travellers at Pulo Gebang Terminal Today Lower than Yesterday
Metro Police Chief Brigadier General Asep Edi Suheri inspected the homecoming rush at Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal in East Jakarta. Brigadier General Asep stated that the number of passengers today was lower than yesterday.
“We would like to inform everyone that today the Metro Police personnel conducted an inspection at Pulo Gebang Terminal, which provided information that for today, the number of passengers is not as large as yesterday. Hopefully, in the future there will certainly be dynamics, changes,” said Brigadier General Asep Edi Suheri to journalists at Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal, East Jakarta, Saturday (14 March 2026).
Brigadier General Asep stated there are 1,647 management locations within the 2026 Ketupat Jaya Operation. These include 68 security posts, 22 service posts, 9 homecoming traffic monitoring posts, 83 posts at economic centres, 4 at terminals, 4 at stations, 2 at airports and 1 at a port.
“We also prepared security at banking offices totalling 471 and also 164 at pawnbroker offices. I am detailing all of this, colleagues. And there are also 621 vital objects, namely petrol station substations, state electricity company substations, and Pertamina depots,” he said.
He stated that security is also being conducted at 13 locations for evening takbiran celebrations, 133 locations for Eid al-Fitr prayers and alms distribution, as well as 37 pilgrimage sites. He stated that inspections of 9 recreational facilities such as Ancol, Ragunan and Taman Mini will also be conducted.
“In this regard, Metro Police deployed 6,812 personnel. Consisting of 5,092 police personnel, which we divided into two, Metro Police ranks totalling 2,700 and District Police totalling 2,392,” said Brigadier General Asep.
“And also for military personnel on assignment totalling 416 personnel, from Jaya Military Command and from District Military Command ranks. As well as local government personnel on assignment totalling 1,088 personnel, and community potential involvement that we engaged totalling 216 personnel,” he added.
Brigadier General Asep stated that his office also provided security at places of worship comprising 10 major mosques and 123 other mosques. Then, 68 points prone to crowding such as at the National Monument, HI Roundabout, Ocean Park BSD, Aviary Park Bintaro, BXC, Scientia Square Park, as well as various water parks in Bekasi and Depok.
“As for health emergency support, 57 ambulances are prepared. Besides that, 84 referral hospitals are available within Metro Police jurisdiction,” he said.
In addition, Brigadier General Asep stated that flood disaster mapping has been conducted. There are 106 vulnerable points mapped throughout Metro Police jurisdiction.
“And we have prepared, in total, for personnel readiness, natural disaster readiness as well as search and rescue totalling 523 personnel, consisting of Metro Police search and rescue readiness totalling 210 personnel, District Police search and rescue readiness totalling 313 personnel. As for fire service readiness, we have prepared 148 fire-fighting units,” he said.
Furthermore, Brigadier General Asep appealed to people who will travel home to leave their vehicles at their local police stations. He also appealed to the public not to hesitate to contact the 110 call centre if they need police assistance.
“From the Metro Police ranks, we are informing and appealing to the public, to have a safe homecoming journey. We hope it goes smoothly, reaches your destination safely and happily and securely,” said Brigadier General Asep.
“And also do not forget those driving to be careful on the road. If you are indeed tired, you can stop at a rest area. And also do not forget that if you encounter matters that require police assistance, immediately contact the 110 call centre,” he added.
