Metro Police Chief Emphasises Professionalism Among Young Officers

Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Head of Metro Jakarta Police, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri, has emphasised the importance of discipline and professionalism as essential qualities for carrying out police duties to 1,000 junior and non-commissioned officers of the Mobile Brigade who have completed their Basic Mobile Brigade Training for the 2026 Budget Year.

During an assembly at Polda Metro Jaya’s Precision Stadium on Friday, Asep further stressed that every Mobile Brigade officer must uphold loyalty, discipline and professionalism in performing their duties as members of the Indonesian National Police.

“Mobile Brigade personnel must be able to serve as firm yet humane police officers within the community,” he said.

He also emphasised to all officers not to hurt the feelings of the public and to use the authority and power they possess to protect, provide security, and serve the community, nation and country.

“Today, before me stands a new generation of the Mobile Brigade Corps of the Indonesian National Police. I am proud of your efforts in completing an education that has been far from easy,” he said.

Asep further stressed that the completion of this training is not the end of the struggle, but rather the beginning of service to the nation and country.

The 1,000 officers comprise 547 junior officers and 453 non-commissioned officers who will subsequently be placed in operational units within the Metro Jakarta Police Mobile Brigade.

This assembly and briefing serve as part of the initial development of the young Mobile Brigade officers for 2026, preparing them to take on the responsibility of state duties. With the basic education they have received, they are expected to make a genuine contribution to maintaining public order and security, and strengthening the presence of a professional Indonesian National Police within the community.
