Metro Jaya Regional Police Deploy Mobile Kitchen Units to Assist Fire Victims

The Brimob unit of the Metro Jaya Regional Police deployed two mobile kitchen units (randurlap) to assist residents affected by a fire in the Pasar Jiung area, Kemayately, Central Jakarta, on Monday night (1/6).

Commander of the Metro Jaya Police Brimob Unit, Kombes Pol Henik Maryanto, stated that through these mobile kitchen facilities, Brimob personnel distributed more than 200 meal boxes to residents remaining at evacuation sites following the intense fire that struck the densely populated settlement behind Pasar Jiung.

“Brimob must be present among the community, especially when citizens are facing difficulties. This assistance is expected to alleviate the burden on the fire victims,” Hensem Henik said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

She explained that Brimob personnel also visited several evacuation points to personally deliver ready-to-eat meals to affected residents, including children and the elderly. This humanitarian activity follows the direct instructions of the Brimob Unit Commander, Kombes Pol Henik Maryanto.

In addition to distributing food aid, Satbrimob Metro Jaya personnel were also stationed around the incident site to assist with security and post-fire handling, working in synergy with other relevant agencies.

As reported, the fire struck a residential house on Jalan Kemayoran Gempol, Kebon Kosong, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Monday night. The Head of the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Department, Bayu Meghantara, stated that 33 combined fire engine units and 100 personnel were deployed to the scene. The fire report was received by officers at 20:55 WIB.
