Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief Promoted to Commissioner General, Deputy Chief Dekananto Promoted to Inspector General
The Chief of the Indonesian National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, has granted a one-rank promotion to the Deputy Chief of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Dekanto Easting Purwono, elevating him to the rank of two-star general, or Police Inspector General (Irjen Pol.).
The promotion ceremony, known as Korps Raport, was led by the Chief of Police at the Rupattama Building, National Police Headquarters, on Wednesday (2/9).
According to photos released by the National Police Public Relations, Dekananto officially now bears the two-star rank on his shoulders. This adjustment aligns with the position of the Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief, which is held by Commissioner General Asep Edi Suheri.
Additionally, several other positions within the Metro Jaya Regional Police have seen promotions from Senior Commissioner to Brigadier General, specifically affecting the roles of Regional Inspector of Internal Affairs (Irwasda), Head of Renira, and Head of Operations (Karo Ops).
During the ceremony, the Chief of Police also inaugurated several senior officials at the National Police Headquarters. These include Inspector General Roycke Harry Langie as the Chief Assistant to the Chief of Police for Operations (Astamaops), replacing Commissioner General Fadil Imran, who has entered retirement.
Furthermore, Inspector General Jawari has been appointed as the Assistant to the Chief of Police for Human Resources, replacing Inspector General Anwar, who has also retired.
Brigadier General Yudo Hermanto, previously serving as the Head of Internal Supervision (Karo Paminal) of the National Police Propam, has been appointed as the Regional Police Chief of North Sulawesi, succeeding Inspector General Roycke Harry Langie.
Additionally, Inspector General Ruslan Effendi has been appointed as the Coordinator of the Chief of Police’s Expert Staff, replacing Inspector General Herry Rudolf Nahak, who has retired.
General Sigit also inaugurated Brigadier General Yulius Audie Sonny Latuheru, formerly the Regional Police Chief of Southwest Papua, as the Level I Senior Police Instructor at the Police Education and Training Institute (Sespim Lemdiklat Polri).
The position of Regional Police Chief of Southwest Papua will subsequently be filled by Brigadier General Hengki Haryadi, who previously served as the Deputy Chief of the Riau Regional Police.
“The handover of positions is part of the dynamics of the National Police organisation. This rotation is a process of career development as well as organisational refreshment,” stated the Head of National Police Public Relations, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, in a written statement.
