Metro Jaya Police's SPPG Harvests Vegetables and Fish for 2,529 Beneficiaries
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Greenhouse of the Metro Jaya Police’s Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) harvested mustard greens and fish to support the needs of nutritious menu ingredients at the SPPG Polri Palmerah.
Police Commissioner Ardanto, Mid-Level Police Auditor from the Metro Jaya Police’s Itwasda, stated on Tuesday that the mustard greens harvest was carried out from three planting tables.
“There are three mustard greens tables that were harvested, with an estimated total weight of around 80 kilograms,” said Ardanto.
He explained that the vegetables were cultivated using hydroponic methods and are pesticide-free. The planting to harvest process takes approximately one month, and this harvest is the second cycle intended for SPPG Palmerah.
“In the future, this production will be carried out sustainably. Next, we also plan to supply the needs of other SPPG units within the Metro Jaya Police environment under the auspices of the Kemala Bhayangkari Foundation,” Ardanto said.
“This pangasius fish is part of the supply chain ecosystem at SPPG Palmerah of the Metro Jaya Police. Currently, we are harvesting around 560 fish, which will later be used as raw materials at SPPG Palmerah,” Ardanto added.
According to him, fish farming is carried out continuously. From the beginning, they released around 3,000 fish seedlings. Then, harvesting is done partially to adjust to the fish’s growth and the biofloc pond’s capacity.
“In principle, this is part of food security. We are preparing raw material sources while maintaining the sustainability of the supply chain at SPPG Palmerah,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Head of SPPG Polres Metro Jakarta Barat Palmerah, Mustaqim, stated that the raw materials from the harvest will be used for the next day’s menu. The vegetables will be processed into boiled mustard greens with pokcoy and garlic, while the fish will be made into crispy fish fillets and some ground into siomay.
“We received raw materials from the Metro Jaya Police Greenhouse. These raw materials will be used for tomorrow’s menu,” Mustaqim added.
Furthermore, he elaborated that SPPG Polri Palmerah serves six schools and three posyandu. The total number of beneficiaries reaches 2,529 people, consisting of students, toddlers, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers.
