Metro Jaya Regional Police have uncovered alleged online gambling, digital pornography, and money laundering offences through the HOT51 application. Police have named individual and corporate suspects. “In this case, investigators have detained 8 individual suspects and 5 corporate suspects, and have placed one Chinese foreign national on the wanted list,” said Metro Jaya Police Chief Commissioner General Asep Edi Suheri at his office on Friday (26/6/2026). He stated that, based on the investigation, the application was used for gambling and live broadcasts containing pornographic content. The financial turnover in this case was substantial. The large sums of money from online gambling in the application were then funnelled into manual gambling businesses. At least two gambling businesses disguised as arcade game centres were uncovered by Metro Jaya Police. “Investigators discovered the use of shell company schemes and the disguising of fund flows, with an indicated transaction turnover of approximately IDR 559.8 billion, consisting of IDR 900 million per month for the gambling operation at Disney Timezone from December 2025 to June 2026,” he detailed. “And IDR 1.2 billion per month for the gambling operation at Sky Timezone from May to June 2026,” he added. Police have blocked over 100 accounts related to the case and displayed the seized cash evidence. “As a measure to save assets and prevent capital flight, investigators blocked 118 accounts and virtual accounts, and seized IDR 14.96 billion in cash, along with corporate deeds, electronic evidence, and supporting documents,” he stated. The police chief said the uncovering of the gambling and money laundering case demonstrates the force’s commitment to supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita programme.
