Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Metro Jaya Police Traffic Directorate has urged worshippers for Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah prayers at Istiqlal Mosque in Central Jakarta on Saturday (21/3) not to follow instructions from illegal parking attendants. “We also urge you not to follow the directions often given by illegal parking attendants, which usually only cause blockages or problems on the roads,” said the Head of Traffic of Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Pol. Komarudin, in Jakarta on Friday. He stated that almost every year, Jalan Juanda in Central Jakarta is filled with parking for worshippers performing Eid prayers at Istiqlal Mosque. Therefore, to avoid disrupting the roads, he asked the public to follow the instructions of officers on the ground. “We will deploy our officers. Follow the directions and instructions of our officers on the ground,” he said. In addition to securing Eid prayers on Saturday (21/3), Komarudin said that they have also begun securing Eid prayers held today. “Eid prayer security activities for our Muhammadiyah brothers. At 05:30 WIB, we have already deployed. There are at several points, one of the largest in Menteng,” he said. It is known that the government through the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) of the Republic of Indonesia has officially set 1 Syawal 1445 Hijriah to fall on Saturday (21/3). The Minister of Religious Affairs explained that the decision was taken after the results of the hilal sighting conducted by the Kemenag RI’s Hisab Rukyat Team, which stated that the height of the hilal in all regions of Indonesia did not meet the criteria of the Minister of Religious Affairs of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore (MABIMS).
