Jakarta — The Jakarta Metro Police will conduct Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026 for two weeks, from 13 to 25 March, to secure traffic during the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijrah.

This was announced by the Head of Traffic Management of the Jakarta Metro Police, Senior Commissioner Komarudin, during a cross-sectoral coordination meeting at the Metro Jaya Meeting Hall on Monday.

“We are collaborating various forces, including infrastructure, to support the implementation of Operation Ketupat, which, God willing, will take place from 13 to 25 March,” he said.

Komarudin explained that during Operation Ketupat, over 6,800 personnel from the combined forces of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), and related agencies will be deployed across the entire jurisdiction of the Jakarta Metro Police.

Earlier, the Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas), Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, stated that Operation Ketupat 2026 is a humanitarian operation that will focus on the safety and security of holiday travellers.

“Operation Ketupat is not merely a traffic operation, not just securing the flow of travellers going and returning home, but the state is present, the police are present among the people to ensure the series of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr runs safely, orderly, secure from crime, and smooth in traffic,” he said in Jakarta on Saturday (28 February).

For this reason, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has established the tagline “Safe Travel, Happy Family” as the primary spirit of all police personnel in providing service to the public.

“Homecoming is a family story. It is our duty to protect it. Homecoming is not merely about travel, but also about returning home safely,” he said.
