The Metro Jaya Regional Police have arrested eight individual suspects and five corporate suspects in connection with an online gambling, digital pornography, and money laundering case involving the HOT51 application. The Director of General Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, disclosed how the HOT51 application deceived the national banking system.

"To reap profits, this syndicate deceived the national banking system by using deposit channels via bank virtual accounts managed by the payment gateway PT PDN and virtual accounts managed by the payment gateway PT HSR, as well as a company account belonging to PT KAJP," Iman stated during a press conference at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Jakarta, on Friday.

Iman mentioned that the investigation began with cyber patrols conducted by his team. Subsequently, the police carried out an in-depth ‘follow the money’ analysis to trace the perpetrators’ financial assets. "In the initial enforcement phase, the investigation team made simultaneous arrests in several jurisdictions, including East Java, Aceh, and the Metro Jaya Police jurisdiction," Iman said.

In the HOT51 case, Metro Jaya Police Chief Commissioner General Asep Edi Suheri stated that the police have named individual and corporate suspects. One person has also been placed on the wanted list. "In this case, investigators have secured 8 individual suspects and 5 corporate suspects, and have placed one foreign national from China on the wanted list," Asep said.
