Metro Jaya Police Receive Report from Saiful Mujani Regarding Alleged Incitement

Metro Jaya Police have confirmed receiving a police report related to Saiful Mujani, reported by Robina Akbar, representative of the East Jakarta Community Alliance. The report was registered on 8 April 2026, with number LP/B/2428/IV/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA, and concerns alleged violations of Article 246 of Law No. 1 of 2023.

Commissioner Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations at Metro Jaya Police, stated that the report relates to acts of incitement through words or writings that have the potential to disrupt public order.

Furthermore, H Kurniawan, Chairman General of the National Presidium 08, also confirmed plans to report Saiful Mujani and Islah Bahrawi to the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency for alleged conversations directing efforts to overthrow the government. Kurniawan emphasised that both individuals have been vocal in spreading calls to topple the legitimate government, including invitations to take to the streets.

“We have tried to open communication with them, but there has been no response. In the end, we chose the legal route,” said Kurniawan.

Follow-up on this report will greatly depend on the ongoing legal process, with several parties awaiting further investigation into these alleged incitement activities.
