The Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya) has been awarded the Nugraha Sakanti honour, a distinction given to police units deemed to have performed meritorious service for the benefit of the nation and state. The award was presented during a traditional ceremony led by Kapolda Metro Jaya, Commissioner General Asep Edi Suheri, at the Traffic Directorate’s Presisi Field on Monday (6/7/2026).

In his address, Kapolda Asep stated that the Nugraha Sakanti honour is not merely a symbol of appreciation but a form of state trust in the entire force’s dedication to safeguarding Jakarta and serving the public. He explained that the award reflects the hard work, dedication, and loyalty of the Polda Metro Jaya family in maintaining security, order, and providing the best service, in line with the force’s motto, ‘Successful in Carrying Out the Duty of Service.’

‘This award is the fruit of the collective service of the entire force, not the result of individual work or a single function. This is the hard work of all of you. For that, I express my highest gratitude and appreciation,’ said Commissioner General Asep. The award was granted based on Presidential Decree No. 38 TK of 2026 concerning the conferment of the Nugraha Sakanti honour. Kapolda stressed that the award must be seen as a great mandate for all Polda Metro Jaya personnel, to be realised through the police’s presence in providing a sense of security, sincere service, fair law enforcement, and a professional and humanist attitude in upholding the honour of the capital.

He emphasised that the honour is not the end of service but a moral impetus for all personnel to continue working better. The achievement is the result of joint work from all levels, from the regional police, resort police, and sector police, down to the community police officers (Bhabinkamtibmas) as the front line of public service. Kapolda also thanked the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, the Jaya Regional Military Command, the Indonesian National Armed Forces, regional governments in buffer zones, the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, related agencies, religious and community leaders, and all elements of society who have synergised to maintain security and public order in Jakarta and its surroundings.

He stressed that maintaining security and order in Jakarta cannot be done by the police alone, making synergy between the police, military, local government, stakeholders, and the community a crucial strength in facing the complex dynamics of the capital. Kapolda also conveyed six directives from the President to serve as moral guidelines for all police members: maintaining public trust, being close to the people, enforcing the law fairly, enhancing professionalism, strengthening synergy with all elements of the nation, and never ceasing to improve. ‘Be a police officer who is beneficial to society, and never hurt the people’s feelings,’ he said. He also reminded all personnel to maintain integrity, discipline, and avoid violations, abuse of authority, and arrogant behaviour that could damage public trust in the police. He stressed the importance of rapid response to public reports, early detection, prevention, good communication, and collaborative problem-solving. ‘Against any form of public order disturbance and legal violations, we must act firmly, professionally, and measurably,’ he said. In his closing remarks, Kapolda invited all personnel to make the Nugraha Sakanti honour a compass of service and new energy to provide the best service to the community, nation, and state.
