Metro Jaya Police Receive Nugraha Sakanti Award from President: A Bhayangkara Day Gift for the Community
The Metro Jaya Regional Police achieved the highest national honour precisely on the 80th Bhayangkara Day commemoration. President Prabowo Subianto conferred the Nugraha Sakanti award upon the Metro Jaya Regional Police for its significant service and contribution to maintaining security, order, and service to the nation and state. The decoration was pinned directly by President Prabowo during a ceremony held at the Mobile Brigade Corps Training Centre in Cikeas, Bogor, on Wednesday (1/7/2026). The award was based on Presidential Decree Number 37/TK/Year 2026 regarding the Conferment of the Nugraha Sakanti Honour, read out by the Presidential Military Secretary, Major General Wahyu Yudhayana. Besides the Metro Jaya Police, the Nugraha Sakanti award was also presented to the West Java, North Sumatra, Riau, Lampung, Central Java, Banten, Central Kalimantan, and East Java Regional Police, as well as the Police Legal Division and the Police Finance Centre. Responding to the prestigious award, Metro Jaya Police Chief Commissioner General Asep Edi Suheri expressed deep gratitude. He stated that the highest honour from the head of state was the fruit of the entire force’s consistency in implementing the flagship programme ‘Jaga Jakarta untuk Indonesia’ and the result of strong synergy with the community. ‘The Nugraha Sakanti award from President Prabowo is an extraordinary honour and a gift for the 80th Bhayangkara Day for all Jakarta residents. This achievement is inseparable from the hard work of all Metro Jaya Police personnel and the collective commitment of community elements who continue to move with us to maintain the stability of the capital,’ said Commissioner General Asep. He emphasised that the award from President Prabowo would serve as a morale booster for all ranks, from resort police to sector police, to improve services, tighten cross-sectoral coordination, and expand social services within the community. ‘This award is a great mandate. We are committed to continuously strengthening collaboration with the Jakarta Provincial Government, the Jaya Military Regional Command, and the entire community in safeguarding the face of the nation and ensuring Jakarta remains stable, safe, and orderly for Indonesia,’ he added. Commissioner General Asep affirmed that the entire Metro Jaya Police force consistently supports all government programmes. All of President Prabowo’s messages during the 80th Bhayangkara Day ceremony will be used as a moral compass in their duties. ‘We also underline and are ready to implement point by point the directives of the President. There is no prosperity without stability, and no investment growth without legal certainty. The Metro Jaya Police is fully committed to being the front line in maintaining stability in the capital,’ he said. Commissioner General Asep guaranteed that this commitment would be realised concretely in the field, including through the ongoing ‘Jaga Jakarta’ programme, which will continue to be intensified to ensure officers are always present and close to the community.
