Metro Jaya Police Pursue Perpetrators of Armed Robbery at Bekasi Petrol Station
Jakarta — Metro Jaya Police working with Bekasi Metro Police are continuing their investigation and pursuit of perpetrators of armed robbery at a petrol station in Bekasi Regency.
“The combined team from Bekasi Police and Metro Jaya Police is investigating and pursuing the perpetrators,” said Public Relations Head of Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
Budi explained that the robbery occurred at a petrol station in the Babelan area, Bekasi Regency, on Tuesday (10 March) at approximately 03:00.
“The perpetrators, estimated at four individuals, entered from the rear, damaged the door, threatened victims and witnesses with weapons, and then fled with the contents of the safe,” he said.
The case is currently under investigation by Bekasi Metro Police and Babelan Police Station.
“We are continuing our investigation and pursuing the perpetrators involved in this incident,” said Bekasi Metro Police Chief Brigadier General Sumarni in Cikarang on Wednesday (11 March).
He stated that officers who received the report immediately went to the location to conduct crime scene investigation and gather evidence, including obtaining statements from witnesses.
“We are also examining CCTV footage from cameras around the location to identify the perpetrators. Victims have also been questioned to assist in further investigation,” he said.
