Several groups are scheduled to hold demonstrations today. The Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) have guaranteed that services and security for the expression of aspirations and community activities will remain safe and conducive.

Polda Metro Jaya noted that there are 20 scheduled public demonstrations and 17 community activities taking place today, Tuesday (29/09/2026). Several activities are slated to occur in the DPR/MPR RI area and the South Cross of Monas, Jakarta.

The Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Budi Hermanto, stated that the police respect the public’s right to express opinions in accordance with applicable regulations. Services have been prepared so that the expression of aspirations can proceed in an orderly and peaceful manner without disturbing other community activities.

“The National Police are present to provide services to the public expressing their aspirations. We respect the space for expressing opinions and hope that all activities can proceed in an orderly and peaceful manner, while still respecting other members of the public who are active,” said Kombess Budi.

Approximately 17,000 personnel from the National Police, TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces), and the Jakarta Provincial Government have been prepared to support the services and security for all these activities. Personnel will be deployed as needed in several locations, including the DPR/MPR RI area, the South Cross of Monas, participant movement routes, and traffic management points.

All personnel have been instructed to prioritise communication, dialogue, and a persuasive and humanistic approach. Traffic management and diversions will be implemented situationally, taking into account vehicle flow conditions and the developments of activities on the ground.

Kombes Budi urged participants to convey their aspirations peacefully, follow the directions of officers, maintain order and public facilities, and respect the rights of other members of the public.

“Our services are not only intended for those expressing aspirations, but also for citizens who continue to work, attend school, conduct business, and travel. Let us work together to maintain the space for expressing aspirations so that it proceeds orderly and community activities continue smoothly,” he concluded.
