Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade Harvests Maize to Support Food Security

Batalyon C Pelopor of the Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade has harvested maize from a plot of approximately 300 square metres at the unit’s headquarters. The effort to optimise the land is part of the Mobile Brigade’s support for national food security, in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita vision.

Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade Commander, Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto, stated that converting vacant land into a maize field is a form of contribution to the national food security programme while delivering tangible benefits to the community.

“Food security is a shared responsibility that can begin with simple steps, one of which is managing available land productively,” Henik said on Tuesday (7/7/2026).

The harvest yielded three sacks of maize, which were then distributed to local residents. The maize was given away for free so that the benefits could be felt directly.

Beyond supporting food availability, this step demonstrates that vacant land can be managed into a productive area that provides value to the environment while encouraging more optimal land use within the community.

“The harvest distributed to residents is proof that support for government programmes does not stop at the planting process, but is also realised through benefits genuinely felt by the community,” Henik stated.

The successful maize harvest shows that productive land management can provide real benefits for the community. Batalyon C Pelopor hopes this initiative will inspire various parties to optimise their own land, creating more productive spaces that contribute to strengthening national food security.
