Metro Jaya Police Foil 3kg Cannabis Trafficking in Tanah Abang, 2 Men Arrested

Unit 5 Subdit 3 of Ditresnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya foiled the distribution of the narcotic cannabis weighing around 3 kilograms in the Tanah Abang area, Central Jakarta. Two men, identified by initials B (53) and T (49), were arrested by officers.

The disclosure of the case was made on Wednesday (4/3) at about 17:30 WIB at a hotel in Tanah Abang. The operation stemmed from public reports of suspected narcotics transactions in the area.

Police moved quickly and secured the two suspects inside a hotel room. Following a search, officers found 3 large packets containing cannabis and 1 small packet containing cannabis with a gross weight of 3,042 grams (approximately 3 kilograms).

“We from Unit 5 Subdit 3 have again secured two suspects with initials B (53) and T (49) in the Tanah Abang area, Central Jakarta, with evidence of 3 kg of cannabis,” said AKP Edy Lestari, head of Unit 5 Subdit 3 Ditresnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya.

He also urged the public to steer clear of drugs as they are dangerous and detrimental to the nation’s successors. At present, the two suspects and the evidence have been secured at Ditresnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya for further examination.
