Metro Jaya Police Foil 102.2-Gram Methamphetamine Distribution in West Jakarta
Jakarta – The Directorate of Narcotics Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) of Metro Jaya Regional Police thwarted the distribution of methamphetamine weighing 102.2 grams in the Grogol area, West Jakarta. The disclosure was carried out by Unit 4, Sub-Directorate 3 of Ditresnarkoba on Monday, 2 March, at around 10:50 Western Indonesian Time, on the roadside of Semeru Raya Street, in front of an electronics shop, Kelurahan Grogol, Kecamatan Grogol Petamburan, Jakarta. AKP Rumangga, head of Unit 4, Subdit 3 Ditresnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya, said in a Jakarta statement on Wednesday. Rumangga explained that in the case, a male suspect identified by initials ERI (22) was arrested and is suspected of involvement in drug abuse and distribution. “From the suspect’s hands, a plastic clip containing methamphetamine weighing 102.2 grams gross was seized,” he said. “The evidence was then placed into a red paper bag. In addition, other evidences were secured, namely one mobile phone,” he added. Rumangga also delivered a public safety message to the community to stay away from drugs as they severely damage the nation’s generation. “Therefore, any violations related to drugs that we find will be followed up and traced to the drug lord,” he said. Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, urged the public not to engage in drug abuse or distribution. He also asked residents to report suspicious activities via the 110 Call Center, which is active 24 hours, if they encounter any suspicious activity. “Our handling is firm, measured, and professional. Community support is important to break the chain of drug distribution,” Budi asserted.
