Metro Jaya Police Destroy 712 Kg of Narcotics Worth Rp 280 Billion
JAKARTA — The Metro Jaya Regional Police destroyed 712 kilograms of narcotics seized from cases uncovered during the period from January to March 2026.
Director of Narcotics Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Ahmad David, stated that the value of the evidence is estimated to reach Rp 280 billion if converted to black market prices.
He added that the seizure of hundreds of kilograms of narcotics is estimated to have saved more than 5.1 million lives from the potential misuse of drugs.
“This has also saved 5,173,407 lives of Jakarta residents and surrounding communities from the dangers of drug circulation and misuse,” he said.
From that number, 9 individuals acted as producers, 972 as dealers, and 1,504 others as users or addicts.
The majority of suspects are male, namely 2,283 people, while females number 202.
“Specifically for children, we carry out healing through rehabilitation with a restorative justice approach,” David explained.
The details of the destroyed evidence include 115.84 kilograms of methamphetamine, 275.92 kilograms of marijuana, 26,593 ecstasy pills, and 873,950 dangerous drug pills.
Other evidence includes 5,070 Happy Five pills, 16.2 kilograms of ketamine, 96 packets of “heavy water”, and 1.02 kilograms of cocaine.
