Metro Jaya Police Deploy Security for 47 Events Across Jakarta and Surrounding Areas
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Metro Jaya Regional Police have provided security services for 47 activities taking place in Jakarta and its surrounding areas, consisting of three public demonstrations and 44 community events on Saturday.
“Security services have been prepared according to the characteristics, location, and number of participants for each activity,” said the Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol. Budi Hermanto, in Jakarta on Saturday.
Budi stated that the police have coordinated with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), local governments, organisers, and relevant agencies to ensure that all series of activities proceed safely, orderly, and smoothly.
“Our personnel are deployed according to the needs of each location to provide security services and to ensure a sense of safety and comfort for both participants and the public active around the event locations,” he said.
Several activities expected to attract large crowds include the National Remembrance Dhikr and Prayer at the National Monument (Monas) field, with an estimated 100,000 participants. Additionally, a friendly match between Aston Villa and the Indonesia All-Stars at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium is expected to draw approximately 40,000 spectators, alongside the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 at ICE BSD City, which anticipates around 20,000 visitors.
Other scheduled events include SKYAVENUE 2026 at Istora Senayan, Social Chic 2026 at the GBK Madya Stadium, and an Iwan Fals & Band concert in Depok.
Further activities include the Ministerial Convention and Stewardship Summit 2026 at the Basilea Convention Centre, the ‘Glenn Fredly Kembali ke Timur’ music performance at Plaza Festival Kuningan, the 25th Anniversary of the Forum Betawi Rempug (FBR) in Kemayoran, and the Regional Working Meeting (Rakerda) of the PAN DPD for East Jakarta.
He added that for the National Remembrance Dhikr and Prayer at Monas, Metro Jaya Police are involving 7,643 joint personnel. Meanwhile, 1,450 joint personnel have been stationed to provide security for the friendly match between Aston Villa and the Indonesia All-Stars at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium.
“Security services are being carried out professionally, humanely, and in an integrated manner through pre-emptive and preventive measures, including early detection, patrols, open and undercover security, as well as situational traffic management according to field conditions,” said Budi.
Budi urged members of the public attending these events to arrive early, account for travel time, utilise public transport where possible, and follow the instructions of officers on the ground. He also advised those not involved in the activities to use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.
