This is a joint force from the TNI, Polri, Jakarta Provincial Government, and the DPR/MPR RI security units,” stated the Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto, in the Gelora Bung Karno area, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (29/09/2026).

Budi noted that there are 20 demonstrations and 17 community activities scheduled in Jakarta today. He mentioned that Metro Jaya Police have deployed a total of 17,628 personnel to guard activities across various locations.

“Overall, the total number of prepared personnel is 17,628. For the DPR, we have allocated 4,998. There are also 2,500 traffic personnel for traffic management,” he said.

Budi stated that traffic diversions around the DPR will be situational. He added that the authorities have also prepared parking areas for vehicles transporting the protesters.

“Firstly, regarding traffic engineering, it is certainly situational. We have received notification that our colleagues from KBPBI will begin their action at 10:00 AM. Therefore, we are coordinating through the Intelligence Directorate regarding the timing, and we have also facilitated parking at Senayan East Parking for buses from the labour groups,” he explained.

Budi said that personnel will employ a humanistic approach in guarding the demonstrations. He expressed hope that the protests would proceed in accordance with the regulations.

“The activities will continue to prioritise a communicative pattern, a humanistic approach, and coordination. We convey that the presence of service personnel from the TNI, Polri, Jakarta Provincial Government, and security units is to ensure that the aspirations of our colleagues from KBPBI can be conveyed effectively,” he said.

Budi emphasised that the deployed personnel will not be carrying firearms. He stated that this is in accordance with the directives from the Head of Metro Jaya Police, Komjen Asep Edi Suheri.

“We also urge that in the implementation of these expression of aspirations, following the directive of the Head of Metro Jaya Police, Polri officers are not permitted to carry firearms or engage in counterproductive actions,” he said.
