The Metro Jaya Regional Police are preparing personnel to secure Easter celebrations at various churches. The primary focus of this operation is to provide services that instil a sense of security through the presence of officers in the field.

The Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated that they are deploying personnel to ensure that Christian worshippers can conduct their services safely, comfortably, and solemnly. The total force prepared amounts to 4,500 personnel.

“We are deploying 4,500 personnel to ensure that the entire series of Easter worship services runs safely and smoothly. The presence of personnel in the field is also a form of our service so that the congregation can worship calmly and comfortably,” said Budi in his statement on Thursday (2/4/2026).

Security personnel are stationed at churches, crowded spots, and locations that serve as centres of activity for the congregation during the Easter celebrations. According to him, the presence of police in the field is not only to maintain public order and security but also as a form of service to the community.

Furthermore, he explained that personnel are also prepared to support the smooth conduct of worship, from sterilising locations before events begin, managing traffic flow, to routine patrols around church areas. All these steps are taken so that the congregation can carry out their worship more calmly and smoothly.

“We want the presence of the National Police to truly be felt by the community as protectors, guardians, and servants. Therefore, this Easter security operation is not only oriented towards security aspects but also towards service to the congregation so that worship can proceed peacefully and smoothly,” he said.

In addition, Metro Jaya Police are urging the public to remain vigilant and immediately report to officers or via the 110 service if they encounter anything suspicious. With the readiness of personnel and the services provided, it is hoped that the 2026 Easter celebrations can proceed safely, orderly, and full of peace.
