JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Metro Jaya Regional Police are deploying thousands of combined personnel to ensure security and smooth proceedings for the Takbiran Night celebrations in 2026 across the Jakarta region on Friday (20/3/2026).

This security measure is intended to allow the public to celebrate Takbiran Night safely, orderly, and conducive.

“The Metro Jaya Regional Police are deploying 1,810 personnel for the security of Takbiran Night 2026. This number consists of 1,759 personnel from the Metro Jaya Regional Police and 51 from the local police resorts,” stated the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Commissioner Pol Budi Hermanto, in his statement on Friday.

The personnel are distributed across various sectors, including the Harmoni traffic light, Jalan Veteran, the US Embassy, Dukuh Atas, and the Sarinah traffic light.

Budi explained that 903 personnel are specifically assigned for security, safety, public order, and traffic management (kamseltibcarlantas).

This security covers overall community activities, including anticipation of potential public order disturbances.

The Metro Jaya Regional Police have divided the personnel deployment into several main sectors to anticipate crowd build-ups.

Sector A Monas is guarded by 100 personnel, Sector B Monas by 274 personnel, and Sector C Bundaran HI has the largest number with 533 personnel.

Budi urged the public to celebrate Takbiran Night in an orderly manner and avoid risky activities. He specifically highlighted the prohibition on processions that disrupt public order and the use of firecrackers.

“The public is expected not to conduct processions that could potentially disrupt public order, not to light firecrackers, not to engage in wild racing, and to comply with instructions from officers on the ground,” said Budi.

Meanwhile, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will hold a Car Free Night (CFN) along Jalan MH Thamrin to Jalan Jenderal Sudirman on Eid al-Fitr Takbiran Night 1447 Hijriah. The event is expected to be lively with a torch parade.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that thousands of participants will liven up the parade. The permission for this is intended to provide space for the cultural and religious expression of Jakarta residents in celebrating the day of victory.

“The DKI Jakarta Government has decided to organise what is called Car Free Night. In addition, we are also permitting a torch parade with approximately 5,000 (participants),” said Pramono when attending an event at GOR Cengkareng Barat on Monday (16/3/2026).
