Metro Jaya Police Confirm Muse Model in West Jakarta Was Not a Robbery Victim
Police spokespersons said that the PPA and PPO Directorates, together with Satres PPA PPO Jakarta Barat and the Kebun Jeruk Police Sector, assisted by the UPT P3A and psychology units, including the Dokkes (Forensic) team of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, proactively visited the woman known as AWS and have questioned her, said Public Relations Head of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, on Wednesday (20 May 2026).
“We emphasise that the person in question is not a victim of a mugging or of any other criminal act,” he added.
He explained the reason for spreading the false news. The reason, he said, was that AJDV was jesting and sought to glorify the robberies that are currently viral.
“What is the motive? The first is because it is a prank; the second is to glorify several viral robbery cases. We visited her this afternoon and have conducted an in-depth follow-up. We therefore conclude that the person is not a victim of a criminal event,” he elaborated.
He then urged the public to be prudent in social media. Budi urged residents not to disseminate news that is misleading and could cause unrest.
“The Metro Jaya Police are present to provide psychological support to the person concerned and we conclude, based on the results of the investigation, that the person is not a victim of a criminal event,” he said.
Earlier, rumours circulated that a Muse model with initials AJDV had become a victim of a mugging in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta. A hospital in West Jakarta commented on the news.
In social media narratives, the victim underwent treatment at RS Sumber Waras. Police then checked there.
A representative from RS Sumber Waras’s management, Tri Nurmansyah, explained that, based on the inquiry, no patient data showed the name circulating on social media.
“Based on our investigations to date, the patient named in that report does not exist in the patient data who is currently being treated or who has been treated at Rumah Sakit Sumber Waras,” Tri Nurmansyah said. (rdh/ygs)
