Metro Jaya Police conduct routine patrols to anticipate street crime in the South Jakarta area

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Metro Jaya Police deployed as many as 140 patrol personnel for routine patrol activities to anticipate street crime, specifically the 3C, namely theft with force (curat), theft with violence (curas), and motor vehicle theft (curanmor) in the South Jakarta area.

“This activity is an enhanced routine step to keep the situation safe and conducive, especially from potential street crime and other public order disturbances,” said Kompol Miftakhul Huda, head of Section 3, Sub-Directorate of Waster Ditpamobvit, Metro Jaya Police, in a parade in front of the Ditreskrimsus building of Polda Metro Jaya, in Jakarta, on Saturday.

Huda said the enhanced routine patrol (KRYD) is conducted to anticipate street crime, especially the 3C, i.e., curat, curas, and curanmor. The patrols also target potential disturbances in public order and safety, including clashes among residents.

The 140 personnel involved comprise 100 police personnel, 30 soldiers and 10 Satpol PP personnel.

He confirmed the patrol team will move around (mobile) to a number of high-risk locations. Movement of personnel will also be situational, adjusting to on-ground conditions.

“The patrol movement pattern is implemented dynamically to anticipate potential public order disturbances on the ground,” he said.

The Metro Jaya Police hope the KRYD patrols can prevent street crime and provide a sense of security to the public from night into the early hours.
