Metro Jaya Police Commit to Thorough Investigation of Acid Attack on KontraS Official
Jakarta — The Metro Jaya Police have committed to conducting a thorough investigation into the acid attack on Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of KontraS (Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence).
Brigadier General Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations at Metro Jaya Police, stated on Sunday that investigators are working with extraordinary effort in the field. “The police’s primary focus is to identify and apprehend those responsible for this criminal act that undermines democracy through scientific crime investigation,” he said.
Budi added that Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri has given special attention to ensure the acid attack case remains the top priority. The police are conducting a thorough science-based criminology analysis.
“Let us give space to the combined team from Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police Station and the Metro Jaya Police Criminal Investigation Directorate to work quickly in identifying and apprehending the perpetrators,” he said.
In addition to face-to-face services, the police have established a fast-track reporting system via Call Centre 110 and hotline 0812-8559-9191, available to the public at any time. Budi urged public participation and assured all information providers of complete safety and confidentiality of their identities.
“To all witnesses who have heard, seen, known, or directly experienced this incident, we urge you to provide information to us,” he said.
