Metro Jaya Police Chief Presents Social Services and Healthcare in Bekasi to Mark Independence Day
Metro Jaya Police Chief Commissioner General Asep Edi Suheri organised social assistance activities and free healthcare services in Cabangbungin, Bekasi Regency. The activities were a demonstration of the National Police’s presence among the community, as well as part of the series of events welcoming the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.
The social assistance and healthcare services were held in Kampung Pulongandang Tengah RT 10/RW 03, Sindangsari Village, Cabangbungin District, Bekasi Regency. The activities took place following the inauguration of the TNI-Polri Bridge and Clean Water Source, which was officiated by President Prabowo Subianto virtually via Zoom video conference on Thursday (13/8/2026).
Specifically in Sindangsari Village, Cabangbungin, the Merah Putih Presisi Bridge serves as a connecting facility that provides safer and more suitable access for local residents. Following the inauguration, the Metro Jaya Police Chief and his staff also directly inspected the bridge and engaged in dialogue with the community.
As part of the series of activities, the Metro Jaya Regional Police also organised social assistance in the form of distributing aid packages and health services for the surrounding community. The Police Chief, together with senior officials of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, directly inspected the health examination services and spoke with residents. The activities formed part of the National Police’s concern for the community as well as an effort to bring police services closer to the public.
Five Merah Putih Presisi bridges within the jurisdiction of the Metro Jaya Regional Police were inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto simultaneously with other bridges in several provinces. The five bridges were inaugurated at the same time as those in other provinces as part of the inauguration of the TNI-Polri Bridge and clean water source, which was officiated by President Prabowo Subianto virtually via Zoom video conference.
The Metro Jaya Police Chief and senior officials of the Metro Jaya Regional Police participated in the series of activities from the location of the Merah Putih Presisi Bridge in Cabangbungin. Within the jurisdiction of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, there are five Merah Putih Presisi bridges spread across Bekasi Regency and South Tangerang City. Four bridges are located in Bekasi Regency, while one other is in South Tangerang City.
The four locations in Bekasi Regency are in Kampung Kalenderwak, Karangsari Village, East Cikarang District; Kampung Kobak Ceper, Karangharja Village, Pebayuran District; Kampung Pulongandang Tengah, Sindangsari Village, Cabangbungin District; and Bantar Jaya Village, Pebayuran District. Meanwhile, the other bridge is located in Ciputat Urban Village, Ciputat District, South Tangerang City.
The presence of the five bridges provides new connecting access for the community to support daily activities. The infrastructure is expected to ease residents’ journeys to settlements, schools, service facilities, agricultural land and centres of economic activity, while also facilitating the distribution of agricultural produce and community business products.
In his remarks, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasised that infrastructure development is part of the National Police’s commitment to remain present among the community, understand residents’ needs and help provide solutions to various problems they face.
“In accordance with the President’s directive, we must continue to stand together among the people and understand what the problems are in society,” said the National Police Chief.
The National Police Chief also stressed that all ranks of the police force must continue to maintain close ties with the community and provide the best service.
“The National Police was born from the people and must always be the people’s police. Hopefully the mandate and message from the President can truly be implemented, so that we can provide the best service for the realisation of a National Police for the community,” concluded the National Police Chief.
The inauguration of the Merah Putih Presisi Bridge was a manifestation of collaboration between the National Police, the government and the community in providing infrastructure that strengthens connectivity and delivers tangible benefits for residents. The community is also expected to help maintain and care for the facilities so that they can be used safely and sustainably.
