Jakarta — The Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri, stated that investigations into an acid attack against Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS), are still being deepened.

The statement was made by Asep whilst inspecting traffic flow at the Pulogebang Integrated Terminal in East Jakarta on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

“Investigations are still underway, yes. My officers are still working, so please pray it can be resolved quickly,” said Asep at the location.

Dimas Bagus Arya, Coordinator of KontraS’s Board of Workers, explained that two perpetrators riding a single motorcycle, allegedly a Honda Beat model from 2016–2021, approached the victim from the opposite direction on Talang Road (Talang Bridge).

“The perpetrators were two men who carried out the operation using one motorcycle, with each playing the role of driver and passenger,” said Dimas in a written statement confirmed by Kompas.com on Friday, 13 March 2026.

Dimas added that the motorcyclist perpetrator wore a white-and-blue combination shirt, dark trousers believed to be made of denim, and a black helmet.

The second perpetrator, sitting at the rear, wore a black buff-like mask covering half of his face, a dark blue shirt, and blue long trousers folded to shorts length, believed to be made of denim.

“One of the perpetrators then sprayed caustic liquid towards the victim, hitting parts of the victim’s body,” said Dimas.
