Jakarta (ANTARA) - Personnel of Detasemen Gegana, Satuan Brimob, Polda Metro Jaya, carried out an environmental clean-up at Al-Maghfiroh Mosque in Palmerah, West Jakarta (Jakbar), on Friday, as part of efforts to maintain environmental cleanliness. ‘This activity is a manifestation of care for environmental cleanliness and to support the comfort of people in performing their prayers,’ said Dansat Brimob Polda Metro Jaya, Police Grand Commissioner Henik Maryanto, in a statement in Jakarta on Friday. He explained that Detasemen Gegana personnel arrived at the site in the morning and first coordinated with the Chairman of the Mosque’s Dewan Kemakmuran Masjid (DKM), Ustadz Sutisna. ‘After that, the activity continued with mutual aid cleaning of the mosque area together with the local management,’ said Henik. He added that the environmental clean-up activity is part of Brimob’s commitment to continue to be present among the community through tangible actions that benefit the surrounding environment. Through these activities, Brimob hopes public awareness of environmental cleanliness can be maintained, especially at places of worship that are centres of community activity. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the DKM of Al-Maghfiroh Mosque, Ustadz Sutisna, expressed appreciation for the concern shown by Brimob personnel through the activity. He said the environmental clean-up activity had a positive impact and also strengthened the relationship between the police and the community.
