Metro Jaya Police arrest meth dealer posing as an electronics parcel in West Jakarta

Directorate of Narcotics Investigation, Metro Jaya Regional Police, thwarted the distribution of the drug methamphetamine in the Grogol area, West Jakarta (Jakarta Barat). Police also seized 102.2 grams of methamphetamine.

“Police secured a man with the initials ERI (22) who is suspected to be involved in the abuse and distribution of narcotics,” said the Narcotics Director for the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ahmad David, when contacted on Wednesday (4 March 2026).

Kanit 4, Subdit 3 of the Ditresnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya, AKP Rumangga, said the suspect was arrested on Monday (2/3), at 10:50 WIB, on the edge of Semeru Raya Street, Grogol Petamburan. Upon search, police found an electronic package containing methamphetamine.

“We have successfully secured one narcotics offender suspected of possessing methamphetamine with the initials ERI, with the evidence totaling 102.2 grams of methamphetamine, at the crime scene in the Grogol Petamburan area, West Jakarta,” he said.

Police are still developing the case. At present, the suspect and the evidence have been secured at the Metro Jaya Regional Police.

“To keep away from drugs because they destroy the generation of the nation, therefore every violation related to drugs that we find will be pursued and we will trace it to its suppliers,” he added.
