Metro Jaya Police Appreciate Kodam Jaya and Provincial Government for Supporting National Prayer Event at Monas
A series of public activities held within the Metro Jaya Police jurisdiction proceeded smoothly on Saturday, 1 August 2026, including a national dhikr and prayer event at the National Monument (Monas). The Metro Jaya Regional Police expressed their appreciation for the support provided by Kodam Jaya, the Jakarta Provincial Government, and the general public in ensuring the success of these activities.
“We would like to thank the community for their understanding and cooperation in following the officers’ directions. This support was instrumental in maintaining smooth mobility throughout the events,” said the Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Buju Hermanto.
In addition to the National Dhikr and Prayer at the Monas area, other activities included a pre-season friendly match between Aston Villa and the Indonesia All Star at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK), alongside various other agendas across Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi.
Budi Hermanto noted that the increase in public activity led to higher vehicle volumes on several roads, particularly around Monas and GBK. He stated that these conditions were managed through officer deployment and travel adjustments by road users.
“The success of today’s security operations is the result of synergy between Kodam Jaya, Metro Jaya Police, the Jakarta Provincial Government, organisers, and the support of the entire community,” said Budi.
A total of 1,263 joint personnel were deployed to secure the events. The Deputy Chief of Metro Jaya Police, Brigjen Dekananto Eko Purwono, instructed all ranks to take the security of these activities seriously.
“I must convey that this national dhikr and prayer event will be attended by approximately one hundred thousand participants from Jakarta, West Java, Banten, and other surrounding areas,” said Deputy Chief of Metro Jaya Police Brigjen Dekananto Eko Purwono during a briefing at Monas, Central Jakarta, on Saturday.
Dekananto added that the National Dhikr and Prayer event is a national agenda as part of the 81st Indonesian Independence Day celebrations, and he urged his officers not to treat the event as a routine task.
