Metro Jaya Police answer in Andrie Yunus pretrial hearing set for Thursday
Jakarta (ANTARA) — The respondent’s answer, by Metro Jaya Regional Police, in the pretrial hearing of the case over the alleged assault on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus, will be held on Thursday (21 May). ‘For the answer on Thursday (21 May) at 09:00 WIB in the morning, followed by replication and duplik adjustments according to court time,’ said Judge Suparna, a sole judge in the Jakarta Selatan District Court, on Wednesday. The single pretrial judge set the agenda for Thursday (21 May) to include the respondent’s answer, the applicant’s replication, and the respondent’s duplik, which will be conducted in sequence in accordance with the hearing’s timings. Meanwhile, on Friday (22 May), the hearing will move into the agenda of presenting documents from both the applicant and the respondent, followed by the examination of witnesses and experts from the applicant’s side. Then on Monday (25 May), the respondent will present witnesses and experts at the hearing. The judge also set the deadline for the submission of conclusions on Tuesday (26 May), while the pretrial ruling is scheduled for Tuesday (2 June). In the first pretrial hearing, the Team Advocacy for Democracy (TAUD) urged the pretrial judge of the Jakarta Selatan District Court, Suparna, to declare the pretrial process invalid in relation to the transfer of Andrie Yunus’ assault case to the Military Police (POM TNI). Currently, two reports are being processed at Polda Metro Jaya: Model A Police Report filed by the police, and Model B Police Report previously reported to Bareskrim Polri, and subsequently transferred to Polda Metro Jaya. The application was lodged because the investigation into Model A Report was considered blocked or stagnant, with no apparent progress or follow-up actions in the law enforcement process.
