Metro Jaya Brimob Thwarts Brawl in Bekasi, Two Youths Arrested with Sharp Weapons

Personnel from the D Pioneer Battalion of the Metro Jaya Regional Police Brimob unit successfully thwarted a brawl attempt in the Babelan area, Bekasi Regency, West Java. Two teenagers carrying sharp weapons were arrested during the operation.

“The patrol team secured two teenagers suspected of intending to participate in a brawl, along with three sharp weapons believed to be intended for use in the incident,” stated the Commander of the Metro Jaya Regional Police Brimob, Kombes Henik Maryanto, in a statement to journalists on Tuesday (9/6/202scale).

Routine patrols are being conducted to ensure the security situation remains conducive while anticipating brawls, illegal street racing, and various forms of street crime that have the potential to disturb public peace. The presence of personnel in the field also serves as a preventive measure to suppress potential security disturbances during high-risk hours.

“Routine patrols are one of the efforts to create a sense of safety and prevent disturbances to public order and security within the community,” he said.

Henik noted that the presence of personnel in the field is expected to provide a deterrent effect, allowing potential security threats to be anticipated early. Preventing brawls requires a collaborative role between the police, parents, and the community.

“Supervising adolescent activities and maintaining awareness of the surrounding environment are considered vital to preventing the younger generation from engaging in actions that could endanger themselves or others,” he added.

The two teenagers and the evidence have been handed over to the Babelan Police Sector for further processing. The public is also urged to immediately report any potential security disturbances in their surroundings via the National Police emergency service, 110.
