Metro Jaya Brimob Female Officers Provide Trauma Healing to Children Affected by Kemayoran Fire

A trauma healing session was organised by the female officers (Srikandi) of the Metro Jaya Regional Police Brimob on Wednesday (3/6/2026). These policewomen are assisting in restoring the psychological well-being of children currently residing in evacuation centres after their homes were destroyed by fire. During the activity, the officers engaged the children in play and laughter, while also distributing snacks and gift parcels to bring a sense of cheer to the displacement camps. The children participated enthusiastically, interacting vibrantly with the attending personnel.

In addition to trauma healing, the Metro Jaya Brimob continues to assist with the needs of the evacuees and is coordinating with relevant authorities regarding post-fire management in the Pasar Jiung area. The Commander of Metro Jaya Brimob, Kombes Henik Maryanto, stated that the presence of the female officers is not only to provide aid but also to ensure that children receive necessary attention and moral support following the disaster. According to her, the psychological recovery of children is a vital component of the fire victim recovery process.

“Children require special attention after experiencing such a difficult situation. Through this trauma healing activity, we want to provide a sense of security and renewed spirit so they can remain cheerful and not succumb to the sadness caused by this tragedy,” said Kombes Henik. The fire occurred on Monday night (1/6), destroying approximately 250 semi-permanent buildings and affecting at least 500 individuals who lost both their homes and livelihoods.
