Metro Bekasi Police Enlist Online Motorcycle Taxi Drivers as Information Partners

Bekasi Regency – The Metropolitan Bekasi Police Department has enlisted online motorcycle taxi drivers, commonly known as ojol, as information partners to support police operations and maintain public order.

Metropolitan Bekasi Police Chief Commissioner Sumarni expressed appreciation for online motorcycle taxi drivers, recognising their crucial role as police partners in providing information regarding law enforcement matters in the field whilst helping maintain community security.

“Our ojol colleagues are our eyes and ears in the field. If you encounter potential security disturbances or criminal activity, do not hesitate to report to us immediately or through our toll-free service 110,” he said in Cikarang on Saturday.

According to Sumarni, online motorcycle taxi drivers are not merely transport sector entrepreneurs but important members of the community with a significant role in creating security and public order.

He emphasised that collaboration and synergy between police and the ojol driver community must be continuously strengthened and improved, particularly in maintaining conditions within the community.

“This iftar gathering is not merely a ceremonial event but a manifestation of unity and closeness with our online motorcycle taxi colleagues. We aim to build strong synergy to maintain security and public order in Bekasi Regency,” he stated.

Sumarni hoped that through this activity, cooperation between police and the ojol community would become increasingly solid, extending beyond Ramadan.

“Police cannot work alone; we need support and assistance from our field partners, including the ojol community,” he said.

The iftar gathering with hundreds of online motorcycle taxi drivers at Metro Bekasi Police Headquarters featured interactive dialogue, public order messaging, and distribution of food packages. Five hundred food parcels were distributed to the drivers as an expression of care and support for those who serve the community daily with dedication and enthusiasm.
