Methamphetamine Courier in Denpasar Paid Rp 50,000 per Package, Here is the Modus Operandi
Paid only Rp 50,000 each time he successfully delivered a package, a man with the initials IKATD (26) took the risk of becoming a methamphetamine courier in Denpasar, Bali. His activities were halted after police arrested him with evidence of methamphetamine weighing 51.22 grams.
IKATD was apprehended by the Denpasar City Police Narcotics Unit at his residence on Jalan Nagasari, Gang Sedap Malam, Penatih Dang ın Puri, East Denpasar, on Thursday (10/09/2026). At the time of his arrest, he was inside his bedroom.
“He was waiting for orders from his boss to distribute and attach packages to addresses, and was promised a wage of Rp 50,000 per delivery point,” stated the Head of Public Relations for Denpasar City Police, Iptu I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya, on Friday (11/09/2026).
During a search of IKATD’s room, police discovered eight clip packages suspected to contain methamphetamine crystals with a total weight of 51.22 grams. Four packages were found inside the suspect’s handbag, while the other four were hidden inside a Xylitol candy container.
Police also seized several supporting pieces of evidence, including an electric scale and two methamphetamine pipes.
IKATD admitted to receiving the illegal substances from an individual known as Ayax or Mr. Gas. The methamphetamine shipments were then divided into small packages for distribution.
“The suspect and the evidence have been taken to the Denpasar City Police Narcotics Unit for further investigation and legal proceedings,” said Adi.
For his actions, the perpetrator faces charges under Article 609, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code, with a potential prison sentence of between 5 and 20 years.
