Directorate of Narcotics Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) of the Bali Regional Police arrested a man identified as GKA (36) in a boarding room in North Denpasar. Police found methamphetamine weighing 2.2 kilograms kept in his boarding room. GKA said he obtained the meth from someone whose contact number is saved as ‘AKBP’ in his mobile phone.

Head of the Bali Police’s Narcotics Directorate, Kombes Radiant, said the case disclosure began from information from the public regarding suspected narcotics distribution on Jalan Cokroaminoto, Denpasar.

‘Opsnal Team Unit 3 Subdit 3 then conducted an investigation and succeeded in securing a man identified by initials GKA in a boarding room in the Jalan Cokroaminoto area,’ Radiant said during an interview at Bali Police Headquarters, Wednesday (20/5/2026).

The arrest was carried out on Wednesday (13/5/2026) at around 13:30 WITA in room 104 at Kos Corner Living, Gang Jatayu, Jalan Cokroaminoto, Banjar Marga Jati, Pemecutan Kaja Village, Denpasar North District, Denpasar City.

During a search witnessed by two civilian witnesses, police found a black shopping bag containing six packages of meth. The packages were wrapped in clear plastic and gray plastic, with a total meth weight of 2.25 kg.

In addition to the meth, police seized a mobile phone suspected of being used by the suspect to communicate in drug-trafficking activities.

Not stopping at the first location, police then followed up to the suspect’s residence at boarding room No. 1, Gang Bluncat No. 6, Jalan Batubulan, Benoa Village, South Kuta District, Badung Regency, around 16:00 WITA on the same day.

At the second location, police found several items suspected to be related to narcotics distribution activities. The evidence included a black fabric bag, bundles of clear plastic clip bags, a digital scale, brand Idealife, and a white plastic spoon.

Radiant revealed that based on initial interrogation, GKA claimed he obtained the meth from someone whose contact is saved with the name “AKBP” on WhatsApp.

‘So far we are still conducting in-depth investigations to trace the identity of the supplier and the network above it,’ Radiant said.

The suspect along with all the evidence is now secured at the Bali Police’s Directorate of Narcotics for further investigation.
