Meta reportedly developing AI-powered pendant
Meta is reportedly developing an AI-powered pendant, set to undergo testing next year according to a memo seen by The Information. According to TechCrunch’s report on Saturday (30 May), the pendant is likely built on the work of Limitless, an AI device startup acquired by Meta at the end of 2025. Limitless previously developed an AI pendant that can be attached to clothing or worn as a necklace to record user conversations. When announcing the Limitless acquisition, Meta stated the move would accelerate the development of AI-based wearable devices. In addition to the pendant, Meta plans to expand its AI-powered smart glasses range and launch a subscription service for businesses called ‘Wearables for Work’. With all planned devices, Meta appears to be aiming to reverse the fortunes of Reality Labs, its hardware-focused division, which reportedly suffered a $4 billion loss in the first quarter of 2026.
