Meta Releases Muse for Mac, Enabling AI to Work Directly on Computers

Meta has introduced its Muse artificial intelligence (AI) assistant application for Mac devices, following its previous launch on mobile and web platforms.

According to a report from TechCrunch on Friday (18/9) local time, users can grant Muse access to interact directly with documents, messages, calendars, notes, and emails. Muse will always request user permission before accessing data and applications on the user’s device.

Furthermore, Muse will consistently seek user consent before performing any actions deemed sensitive. The Muse application for Mac arrives after Meta launched the AI assistant for mobile and web devices in early September.

Following its debut, Muse briefly held the top position on the list of free applications in the United States App Store. The arrival of Muse on Mac also expands the competition among AI agent services, which do not merely provide answers to questions but can also execute various actions upon user request.

Alongside Muse, several major technology companies are also developing AI agent services for consumers. Some other services even allow users to interact with AI via text messages. Competition in this sector is also driving developers to accelerate the addition of new features. Muse and Instinct, for instance, both introduced voice calling capabilities this week.
