JAKARTA — Meta has launched paid subscription tiers for WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook, promising ‘more fun features’ for paying users. Tech Crunch reports that Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus are priced at US$3.99 (Rp71,000) per month, while WhatsApp Plus costs US$2.99 (Rp53,000) monthly.

Instagram Plus offers additional features such as the ability to see how many people have rewatched your Stories in full, beyond the Close Friends option. Users can also highlight a Story once a week to boost visibility. Other features include extending Story duration beyond 24 hours, viewing Story previews, searching through the viewer list, and posting directly to profiles while highlighting without appearing in followers’ feeds. It also includes animated Super Heart reactions for Stories, custom app icons, tailored bio fonts, and additional profile pins.

Facebook Plus offers similar new features to Instagram Plus. WhatsApp Plus features include app themes, custom ringtones, additional pinned chats, list customisation, and premium stickers.

Meta has confirmed that the new Plus packages do not replace Meta Verified, which was launched earlier and focuses on verification or blue ticks, ensuring it remains available. Additionally, Meta is testing Meta AI subscription tiers: Meta One Plus at US$7.99 (Rp142,000) per month and Meta One Premium at US$19.99 (Rp356,000) monthly, with the Premium tier offering deeper reasoning for complex tasks.
