JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - As many as 200 Hajj Service Officials (PPIH) for 1447 Hijriah or 2026 have been released by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) to serve Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. Hajj and Umrah Minister (Menhaj) Mochamad Irfan Yusuf also conveyed several messages to the Hajj officials who will serve in Saudi Arabia. Irfan reminded the Hajj officials to prioritise the interests of the pilgrims. He explained that Hajj officials already have standard operating procedures (SOP) for serving Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. The selected Hajj officials must be able to maintain their trust with honesty, discipline, and high moral responsibility. He reminded that the success of this year’s Hajj organisation will also be measured by the readiness of Hajj officials in the field. “There are many rules that are indeed unwritten but in general, you all certainly understand what must be done and what must not be done,” Irfan emphasised. Such initiatives are necessary because many pilgrims often feel anxious and confused when performing the Hajj pilgrimage. “The most important thing is for us, the officials, to know what and how to handle diverse pilgrims,” Irfan stated. Irfan emphasised the importance of maintaining integrity during duty, rather than misusing the authority given for personal interests. “Maintain integrity in every execution of duties. Do not misuse authority, do not seek personal gain, do not take shortcuts that violate the rules,” Irfan stressed. The schedule for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage is outlined in the Decree of the Minister of Hajj and Umrah of the Republic of Indonesia Number 7 of 2025.
