Message from the Indonesian National Armed Forces Commander to 744 Soldiers Departing for Lebanon

JAKARTA — The Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), General Agus Subiyanto, has urged 744 soldiers of the TNI Garuda Contingent UNIFIL who will be deployed to Lebanon to uphold Indonesia’s name during the peacekeeping mission. “Keep Indonesia’s good name and the honour of the Garuda Force in the mission area. Every step, attitude, and action of you all soldiers reflects the nation’s dignity in the eyes of the world,” Agus said, quoted from his Instagram account on Saturday (23 May 2026). “Carry out the task with discipline, professionalism, and a high level of dedication,” he added. The Indonesian National Armed Forces Headquarters (Mabes TNI) dispatched 744 personnel as peacekeepers or the Garuda Contingent (Satgas Konga) for the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon. The departure was marked by the Departure Ceremony for the TNI Garuda Contingent UNIFIL for Fiscal Year 2026 at the Prima Field, Mabes TNI, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Thursday (21 May 2026), led by the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto. Agus also stressed that all personnel should safeguard Indonesia’s name and the Garuda Contingent while on mission. “Comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs), heighten vigilance to the developments on the ground, and maintain morale and health during the assignment,” read a statement from the Air Force Public Relations (Dispen AU). The 744 personnel departing for Lebanon consist of 571 personnel from the Indonesian Army (TNI AD), 79 from the Navy (TNI AL), 63 from the Air Force (TNI AU), and 31 from Mabes TNI.
