Merpati launches Malaka route
JAKARTA: State-owned airline Merpati Nusantara Airlines started on Tuesday flight service from Pekanbaru, the provincial capital of Riau, to Malaka in Malaysia.
The company said in a statement that the airline would serve the route three times a week on every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
Its Fokker F-27 aircraft will depart from Pekanbaru at 12:30 p.m. local time and arrive in Malaka at 2:30 p.m. local time. It will leave from Malaka at 3:30 p.m local time and arrive at Pekanbaru at 3:30 p.m.
Aside from Malaka, Merpati also flies to Ipoh from North Sumatra's capital of Medan and Kuala Lumpur from Jakarta. -- JP
