Mercedes-Benz Showcases Nearly Rp10 Billion AMG GT 63 at GIIAS
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 is not only filled with electric cars and affordable family vehicles. In the premium segment, Mercedes-Benz has brought one of the stars of the show and the most expensive car on display, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+, which is on sale for Rp9.8 billion on the road in Jakarta, or nearly touching Rp10 billion.
That price does not even include the Article 22 Income Tax (PPh) for luxury vehicles. With such a price tag, the car is one of the most exclusive vehicles marketed during GIIAS 2026.
The launch of the AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ took place alongside the premium GLC 200 4MATIC SUV. Both form part of the celebration of Mercedes-Benz’s 140-year journey while reinforcing the company’s premium vehicle line-up in the Indonesian market.
“Through the all-new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ and the new GLC 200 4MATIC, we are presenting two different interpretations of the same Mercedes-Benz DNA,” said CEO of Mercedes-Benz Indonesia, Donald Rachmat, at the launch at ICE BSD, Tangerang.
The AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ is the highest-performance variant in the AMG GT family. The car has also been appointed as the latest Official FIA Formula One Safety Car.
Senior Product & Pricing Manager at Mercedes-Benz Indonesia, Kenny Wala, explained that the model has received numerous refinements compared with the previous generation, spanning the engine, aerodynamics, cooling system and handling, in order to continue delivering optimal performance both on the road and on the track.
“Further strengthening its motorsport DNA, the all-new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ also serves as the latest Official FIA Formula One Safety Car. Its appointment as the Official FIA Formula One Safety Car further affirms the vehicle’s high-performance capabilities whilst demonstrating how technology developed for the racetrack,” said Kenny.
In terms of performance, the sports car is equipped with a 4.0-litre AMG V8 biturbo engine producing 612 hp and 850 Nm of torque. That power is delivered through an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission paired with the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system.
Mercedes-Benz claims the car can sprint from a standstill to 200 kilometres per hour in just 10.9 seconds, with a top speed of 317 kilometres per hour.
To support its performance, the AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ features improved aerodynamics through carbon-fibre air deflectors, an active diffuser, a new rear spoiler and a refined cooling system. The running gear also incorporates AMG High Performance Ceramic Composite Brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tyres and 21-inch forged AMG wheels.
Inside the cabin, Mercedes-Benz maintains the luxurious ambience with AMG Performance Seats, an AMG Performance steering wheel, MANUFAKTUR Nappa Leather and MICROCUT microfiber materials, a widescreen cockpit display, the MBUX infotainment system and Burmester surround sound audio.
Beyond the sports car, Mercedes-Benz also launched the GLC 200 4MATIC as a new variant of its premium SUV.
The car uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo mild-hybrid engine producing 204 hp, with an additional 22 hp from the light electrification system. Its torque reaches 320 Nm, with a further 250 Nm from the mild-hybrid system, paired with a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.
