A Mercedes-Benz C300 driver was stopped by a group of debt collectors whilst travelling through the Ancol area in Pademangan, North Jakarta. The debt collectors intercepted the victim, claiming that the vehicle had outstanding instalments.

Pademangan Police Chief AKP Daniel Dirgala stated that the incident occurred on Jalan Gunung Sahari, in front of Mangga Dua Square, Ancol subdistrict, Pademangan district, North Jakarta, on Tuesday 10 March. The victim was stopped and accused of failing to pay vehicle instalments.

“The perpetrators stopped the car driven by the victim on the pretext of claiming unpaid vehicle instalments, and the victim reported the incident to police through the emergency 110 service,” said Daniel, as reported by Antara on Wednesday 11 March 2026.

In swift response to the victim’s report, Pademangan Police Station dispatched its Criminal Investigation Unit team. Officers arrived at the scene and examined several individuals present.

“We immediately inspected the crime scene and questioned several parties,” stated Daniel.

According to the initial complainant with initials F, there were eight perpetrators in total. They suddenly intercepted the victim on the road and accused him of failing to pay instalments for four months.

“Following the report through the 110 hotline, both the vehicle owner and the group of debt collectors were brought to Pademangan Police Station,” Daniel added.

Subsequently, the vehicle owner and the perpetrators underwent further questioning by investigators. Police also secured the Mercedes-Benz, which was the subject of the fiduciary arrangement.

“We immediately conducted an inspection and secured the vehicle,” said Daniel.

At the time of reporting, the debt collectors remained under questioning at the Criminal Investigation Unit of Pademangan Police Station. Daniel urged the public not to hesitate to contact the 110 emergency line if they encountered disruptions to public order and security.
