Meratus Denies Rumours of US$2.2 Billion Acquisition by Waresix
The management of PT Meratus has categorically denied circulating reports regarding a planned acquisition of the company by logistics platform Waresix. The rumour, which cited a staggering transaction value of up to US$2.2 billion, was declared unfounded.
Head of Corporate Communications & Sustainability of Meratus Group, Purnama Aditya, confirmed that the company is unaware of any corporate action plan as widely discussed. He assured that there are currently no official or informal talks concerning a takeover.
“We are not in any process of offering, discussion, negotiation, or planning of any transaction related to an acquisition as mentioned in the circulating information,” Aditya said in an official statement on Thursday (11/6/2026).
Aditya explained that this clarification is crucial to calm market speculation. According to him, unverified reports of an acquisition could trigger varied perceptions among stakeholders, including customers, business partners, and employees.
This step was taken to ensure Meratus’s reputation remains intact and to avoid broader misunderstandings. The company is committed to the principles of transparent and responsible communication in accordance with applicable regulations.
“We hope that reporting regarding Meratus can be conducted in a balanced manner and based on verified information. We urge all parties to refer to official information conveyed by the company,” he added.
Despite being hit by acquisition rumours, Meratus confirmed that internal stability and customer service have not been disrupted. All operational activities in the logistics and shipping sectors continue as normal.
Currently, the company’s main focus is strengthening connectivity and providing integrated maritime logistics solutions.
