Merak-Bakauheni Ferry Tickets Discounted: Here Are the Dates

The school holiday period is expected to boost public mobility, prompting the government to provide tariff incentives for ferry users. The discount is implemented through a 100% waiver of port service fees, equivalent to an average reduction of 21.9% of the total ticket price. The programme applies to foot passengers, Class II vehicles, and Class IVA vehicles on seven ferry routes, including the Merak-Bakauheni crossing for both regular and express services. Corporate Secretary of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), Windy Andale, stated that discounted ticket purchases have been available since 6 June 2026 for travel between 20 June and 5 July 2026. For the Merak-Bakauheni express service, passenger fares drop from Rp84,800 to Rp44,000, Class II vehicle fares from Rp129,677 to Rp83,616, and Class IVA vehicle fares from Rp749,128 to Rp550,937. On the regular service, passenger fares decrease from Rp22,700 to Rp18,100, Class II vehicles from Rp62,100 to Rp46,400, and Class IVA vehicles from Rp481,800 to Rp431,200. The operator reminded prospective passengers to use the Ferizy online platform for ticket purchases, as tickets are no longer sold at the port. Travellers are urged to plan their journeys early and ensure their identity data and vehicle documents are correctly entered during booking to expedite verification at the port. In preparation for the passenger surge, the Directorate General of Sea Transportation and the Marine Inspector of KSOP Class I Banten conducted seaworthiness spot checks at Merak Port from 10 to 12 June 2026. The KMP Legundi was among the vessels inspected to ensure fleet readiness during the school holiday transport period. The inspection results are considered crucial for maintaining ferry service safety standards. The Director of Shipping and Seafaring, Samsuddin, noted that the school holiday period typically sees increased public movement using sea transport, making collaboration among all stakeholders essential to uphold shipping safety standards and provide safe, orderly, and comfortable services.
