Merah Putih Presisi Bridge in Kuansing Completed, Residents Express Appreciation for Police

The Riau Regional Police Emergency Bridge Task Force has completed the Merah Putih Presisi Bridge in Sangau Village, Kuantan Mudik District, Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regency. Residents have expressed their appreciation for the police, as they can now carry out their daily activities safely.

Kuansing Police and local residents held a thanksgiving ceremony to mark the bridge’s completion on Monday (16 February). The bridge’s presence was enthusiastically welcomed by the community.

“On behalf of the community leaders, traditional elders and local intellectuals, we welcome the Kuansing Police Chief and his team. We extend our gratitude for the attention and care that has resulted in this bridge — the lifeline of community activities — now standing firm and permanent,” said community leader H Darmawan on Tuesday (17 February 2026).

Meanwhile, Kuantan Singingi Police Chief Senior Commissioner Hidayat Perdana stated that the renovation of the Merah Putih Presisi Bridge is part of a programme carried out on the orders of the President of the Republic of Indonesia through the National Police Chief.

“This bridge renovation is a tangible form of the state’s care for the community. In Riau Province, there are 27 bridge units being renovated, and thankfully in our area there are two units, namely in Sangau Village and Muara Petai Village, both within the jurisdiction of the Kuantan Mudik Police Sector,” said Senior Commissioner Hidayat.

He also called on all elements of the community to collectively maintain and care for the bridges that have been built, and to continue strengthening cooperation in maintaining public security and order.

“We urge the Kuansing Police, Kuantan Mudik Police Sector, village officials, community leaders and all residents to work together in maintaining public security and order. This synergy and solidarity is our strength in developing the region,” he added.

The event concluded with a communal meal as a symbol of togetherness between the police and the community. The familial atmosphere that permeated the occasion reflected the close relationship between law enforcement officers and the residents of Sangau Village.

With the completion of the Merah Putih Presisi Bridge renovation, it is hoped that community transport access will improve and help drive village economic growth, particularly ahead of the blessed Holy Month of Ramadan 1447 Hijriyah.
