Merah Putih Madusela Cooperative Provides Affordable Basic Necessities
The Merah Putih Mangga Dua Selatan Cooperative (KKMP Madusela), located in the Sawah Besar District, Central Jakarta, has officially begun operations to provide basic necessities at affordable prices while supporting the local community’s economy.
The Deputy Camat of Sawah Besar, Yulia Fransiska, stated that KKMP Madusela is expected to grow and provide broader benefits to the community through various business activities managed by the cooperative.
“Even though KKMP Madusela is the final cooperative established across the 44 sub-districts in Central Jakarta, we are confident that the cooperative will continue to grow significantly,” said Yulia during the inauguration of KKMP Madusela in Central Jakarta on Thursday.
According to Yulia, the cooperative’s management needs to continuously innovate and implement business development strategies to increase membership and ensure the cooperative serves as an economic driver for the residents of Mangga Dua Selatan.
She noted that one of the primary focuses of KKMP Madusela is to provide basic necessities at prices lower than the market rate, offering residents a more economical option for their daily needs.
“KKMP Madula focuses on providing basic goods at cheaper prices than the market, so that residents will shop frequently here,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of KKMP Madusela, M Ajid, stated that the cooperative currently has 50 members. He expressed hope that membership would continue to increase alongside the expansion of the cooperative’s business activities.
Ajid explained that they also plan to expand their product range, moving beyond basic necessities to include products from local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
KKMP Madusela is expected to serve not only as a place for daily needs but also as a marketplace for local MSME products to reach the community through the cooperative.
“In the future, KKMP Madusela will provide various basic necessities, including cooking oil, granulated sugar, as well as local MSME products,” said Ajid.
