Social Affairs Minister (Mensos), Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul), stated that the learning process at Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Atas (SRMA) 32 in South Lampung (Lampsel) is running optimally even though it is still occupying a temporary building. He conveyed this after a visit and dialogue with students, teachers, and education staff at SRMA 32 in the BPSDM building environment, South Lampung, on Sunday (26/4).

“I saw it earlier, alhamdulillah, the learning process here is running well. Previously, I came here with the Deputy Governor for the first time when we were about to pioneer the opening of the People’s School at this location. (Now) the learning is already running well,” said Gus Ipul in his statement on Sunday (26/4/2026).

Gus Ipul emphasised that all processes must run according to procedure while prioritising empathy for the students. He explained that students at the People’s School come from diverse backgrounds.

“There are those who dropped out of school, have never been to school, or have been to school but cannot follow the learning process well,” said Gus Ipul.

Therefore, teachers and education staff face challenges in adjusting learning methods according to each student’s abilities.

“In general, alhamdulillah, all the dynamics and challenges up to today can be overcome well. It’s not easy, but it can be overcome well,” explained Gus Ipul.

This is inseparable from the role and collaboration of the school principal, teachers, education staff, and the local government. After overcoming adaptation challenges in the first and second months, the learning process is now considered increasingly stable.

“So in the first and second months, there were extraordinary challenges. But after that, alhamdulillah, up to now the condition can be better,” said Gus Ipul.

This positive development in conditions becomes the main capital in organising the permanent People’s School in the future.

“The teachers are comfortable, the principal is comfortable, the students are also comfortable. And this becomes the capital for organising the People’s School going forward.”

Furthermore, Gus Ipul explained that SRMA 32 South Lampung is currently still occupying a temporary building. Later, after the permanent building is completed, all teaching and learning activities will be moved to that location.

“It will move to the permanent building and now the construction has reached more than 20 percent,” explained Gus Ipul.

Previously, Gus Ipul reviewed SRMA 32 South Lampung. During the visit, the students performed various shows, from selawat to enthusiastic cheers.

The event then continued with a dialogue with students, teachers, and education staff. Rizka, one of the students, confidently told her life story in front of Gus Ipul. Meanwhile, Adi Riza demonstrated his role when leading a communal meal activity.

The atmosphere became even more lively when the mathematics teacher, Nabila, demonstrated trigonometry learning using a digital board with an English introduction and interacted with the students in a fun way.

For information, those present at the visit included Lampung Deputy Governor Jihan Nurlela, Head of the Provincial Social Service of Lampung Aswarodi, Head of the Provincial Education and Culture Service of Lampung Thomas Amirico, Head of BPSDM Lampung Alhusnuriski, and Rector of UIN Raden Intan Lampung (2015-2019) Prof. Mukri, as well as students, teachers, and education staff of SRMA 32.
